L. Kronick, M.D.
Doctor Kronick
began practicing orthopedic surgery in 1995 after completing his
medical training at the Chicago Medical School and his residency at
Wayne State University in Detroit. Following residency, he completed
an Adult Reconstruction fellowship at the Rush Orthopedic Institute
under the direction of Wayne G. Paprosky, M.D., where he advanced
his skills in both hip and knee replacement and revision and the
management of bone loss. He then performed a Biologic Hip
Reconstruction fellowship at Wayne State University under the
tutelage of Jeffrey Mast, M.D. and Keith Mayo, M.D. where he refined
his skills in the art of osteotomy and internal fixation. Following
his education, he joined the faculty at Wayne State University as an
Assistant Professor and was named Teacher of the Year in 2000.
Dr. Kronick’s
special training and experience make him one of the best joint
replacement surgeons in California. He is one of the few surgeons
skilled in revision total hip arthroplasty with major bone loss, and
his area of expertise includes hip and knee replacement and
osteotomy, total joint replacement in young patients, the
comprehensive management of avascular necrosis of the femoral head,
revision total knee arthroplasty, and the management of infected
joint replacement. Dr. Kronick utilizes the Rotating Platform knee
from Johnson and Johnson, the only knee that bends and rotates like
a healthy knee. In addition to his expertise, he offers patients
sincerity, communication, and a calm demeanor that puts them at
ease.
Dr. Kronick's
practice focuses on adult reconstruction of the hip and knee at Muir
Orthopaedic Specialists. Academically active, he has published in
peer-reviewed journals and presented at many nationally refereed
conferences, and is currently performing clinical trials in joint
replacement. |
